GLOBAL EXHIBITING | INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITING

International Expertise

GGE has extensive international capabilities and outstanding success in international markets. We believe that traditional borders are outdated. We understand that marketplace perceptions determine your trade show reality—no matter where those markets are. GGE does not believe exhibiting outside the U.S. should be mysterious or cost-prohibitive. Global exhibiting, like the global economy, is simply part of the way we do business today. Your exhibit has to be wherever you want to sell your products and services. Our designers and project managers are well versed in working in the global market place, and we collaborate well with our overseas partners.

Global exhibiting requires not only business savvy but also ‘cultural sensitivity’. Being prepared to do business in another culture is important and often turns out to be what separates a successful exhibit program from a waste of money, time and effort. GGE is sensitive to cultural expectations and has initiated Selling Across Culture, a value proposition that includes:

  • Acknowledging a cultural context
  • Understanding the cultural experience and expectations
  • Realizing that culturally based service is part of a successful exhibiting experience
  • Taking initiatives based on cultural understanding and the evolution of marketing in a particular country
  • Studying trends in a particular culture to deliver real value
  • Being aware and respectful of compliance and legal issues that impact exhibiting (e.g., EU Privacy laws)
  • Providing value beyond borders

Selling Across Cultures implies:

  • Study and knowledge that minimize errors
  • Experience with the fair and with the client’s industry
  • Collaboration—people are getting smarter and can access micro content
  • Value-added mindset that realizes, for example, that integrated marketing, enhanced lighting techniques and traffic building are not unique to the U.S.
  • Focus on value, not price

Our Selling Across Cultures program, for instance, means that we determine:

  • What is the nature of the fair?
  • What is the labor environment before—and after—the fair?
  • What are the limitations of the venue?
  • What are the possibilities offered by the venue, by the organizer?
  • What are the expectations of the attendees?
  • What are the expectations of the exhibitors?
  • What are the mandates for the exhibitor’s brand consistency?

GGE is a member of the Octanorm Service Partnership International (OSPI) and GGE Principal John Moyes serves on the executive board of that organization. Founded in 1984, OSPI is a network of partners (exhibit designers, producers, etc.) that unites about 170 exhibit companies in 55 countries. The idea is that an exhibit can be designed anywhere, but then be built by a partner who may be on the other side of the globe, eliminating the cost of shipping, drayage and storage. "Designed here - built there" is the motto. While the Octanorm extrusion system is still a uniting element, the network itself enables companies to serve their customers globally, and to do so with confidence. Our customers maintain aggressive trade show schedules, going to shows around the world, and they expect the same consistent branding at each location. As a partner in the United States, we cover all aspects of our clients' exhibiting here and expect the same in return. With our clients’ reputation on the line, confidence in our exhibit partner's expertise becomes crucial, and that's one of the things that has made our international work so successful.

As part of GGE’s regular service to clients, we bring their exhibit program overseas, maintaining brand consistency and excellence. At the same time, we are able to bring the same level of services to companies based outside the U.S. when they exhibit in this country.

Our service is consistent whether your program is domestic or global—and here are some of the ways that we help you:

We will provide you with a 'cultural briefing' and point out visitor expectations, major technical and cultural differences, hospitality rules. and other cultural nuances.

International On-site Supervision: A trade show abroad often requires extra support. GGE will not only supervise the installation of your exhibit and guide you through the fair ground, we will also be on-site the first day of show, arrange for last minute requirements, brief your staff, manage your hostesses, run your hospitality program or on-site events.
